Cantine Valpane - Euli 2015

The name "Euli" comes from the Lombard tribe who once lived in the area where the vineyard stands. The tribe was called "Ueel Waigkika", which in the contemporary German language was written "Euli-iup-pina": euli = owl, pina = high / above, iup = Jupiter, hence "the owl that is taller than Jupiter". \n \nToday, many owls live on the beams in Valpane, and the name Euli is a kind of homage to them. \n \nThe color is clear, bright ruby, light with scarlet and small purple nuances. The olfactory note is delicate with berries and aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is subtle and rich with notes of pepper and spices and a slightly tannic and persistent finish. \n \nAlso try it in an original pairing with fish. \n \nGrapes: Grignolino \nVineyard: 2 ha, planting year 2005 \nSoil: clay, limestone \nFermentation: in stainless steel for 21-23 days \nAging: 12-18 months in stainless steel and cement, before bottling \nRefinement: 6 months in bottle before sale
