"Charmingly nestled against the curve of the hill like the face of Saint Jean in the warmth of Christ's shoulder, Monthelie looks like a village of Toscany", Pierre Poupon wrote.
The Monthelie “Sous le Cellier” vineyard, located on the northern limits of the appellation, benefits from a very steep stretch and often supplies very qualitative and healthy grapes. It produces a white wine smooth and delicate, dominated by flowered aromas and a very special sensuality touch. Indeed, the Monthelie has an enjoyable mineral mouth sensation (similar to that of a Riesling), with aromas of cocoa, coffee, pine resin, white flowers and chestnut.
