Mer om produkten
« Clos Orgelot » is a monopoly located on a slope in between the Premiers Crus of Pommard Les
Epenots and Les Pézerolles and Clos des Mouches Beaune Premier Cru. This plot is sunny all day
with its South-Eastern exposure.
Hand-harvested. The crop is sorted on a sorting table and 70% of the bunches are destemmed. We do
a slow fermentation and maceration in cement tanks for 20 to 25 days using wild yeasts only.
Daily pump overs to fix the color and the aromas. At the end of the maceration, we press and fill oak
barrels for ageing for 16 months. We use less than 10% of new oak. The wine is not filtered. We add
very few sulfites.
The beginning of Spring was hot and dry; it permitted to vines to return to life in clement conditions but the weather changed in the end of June with a hail episode which affected Cote de Beaune. Nevertheless, the nice weather during September led to ideal conditions for the vines to reach full maturity. Picking was mid (September in a serene and sunny atmosphere. The vintage keeps its promises in terms of quality and aging potential, even if volumes have been reduced by the summer storm. Red wines result very expressive with elegant aromas: red berries with some spicy notes and great finesse. If the structure of the 2014 wines can still seem a little tight, they should open with aging and the great balance they offer promises to evolve wonderfully over the years.
Rich, well balanced and structured wine with blackberry and strawberry fruits. Tannins, still rather firm but also sweet, give a great texture and lingering finish spiced with some peppered notes.
