VINEYARD
« Clos Orgelot » is a monopoly located on a slope in between the Premiers Crus of Pommard Les
Epenots and Les Pézerolles and Clos des Mouches Beaune Premier Cru. This plot is sunny all day
with its South-Eastern exposure.
WINEMAKING
Hand-harvested. The crop is sorted on a sorting table and 70% of the bunches are destemmed. We do
a slow fermentation and maceration in cement tanks for 20 to 25 days using wild yeasts only.
Daily pump overs to fix the color and the aromas. At the end of the maceration, we press and fill oak
barrels for ageing for 16 months. We use less than 10% of new oak. The wine is not filtered. We add
very few sulfites.
VINTAGE
The climate of 2013 was once again particularly hard and sensitive for winemakers. Actually, it has
been a late vintage. The humid and cold spring produced late flowers and few grapes. Low yields have
been reduced still more due to hail (storm hail in summer). Nevertheless, July and August were sunny
(except the hail storm) and hot September permitted to reach a perfect ripeness of grapes and the
specific attention paid to harvests - with a double sorting of grapes- results in wines particularly well
balanced and structured. 2013 is undoubtly a typical Burgundy vintage to produce this lace of Pinot
Noir which has made the renown of the region: red wines are fine and elegant, more on length and
delicacy than on power. We can compare it with 2010: a great ageing vintage very promising.
TASTING
Delicate, fine and structured wine. The aromas of spices and white pepper, and the touch of
underwood, pep the blackcurrant and red berries notes up. Noble, fine and silky tannins.
