WORK IN THE VINEYARD:
Vintage 2017 is remembered as a dry year, which means basically no treatment against fungal diseses.Grass and weed grew none the less, so we laboured with hacks and hoes despite. Plants didn't grew too much and stay airy.
The wine matured in Barrique Francois Freres exclusive, followed by coupage in a large vat. We've played with mixing different clones from our vineyards to achieve delicate and elegant Pinot noir, not as clean-cut as our terroir wines. Result is fine organic wine that matures sooner, offering both, either maturing in a bottle or to enjoy it younger. This is a great advantage of Pinot noir as opposed to Bordeaux wines.
Ideal temperature for maturation 12-14ºC, and humidity 85%.
This wine is elegant, easy drinking. Colour of cherry compote. Lasting flavour, easily combined with differend dishes, advisable for gastronomy. Tannins are sweet. Overall style is between fine clones 115 and heavier modern clones. Alcohol at neat 12,8%. High non-sugary extract evince very small crop on plants.
Year 2017 was simply very good for red wines.
After 12 months in barrique, we chose some of the barrels for bottling, while some will be aged longer. The wine is young and full of flavour, tannins are round, with balanced acidity. Colour is deeper due to reduction of grapes on the plant. This wine is ready to please all fans of classic Pinot noirs. Cheers!
